DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Two men are now facing federal charges in Detroit for an alleged terrorism plot that authorities say was targeting the LGBTQ community.
Twenty-year-olds Mohmed Ali and Majed Mahmoud were arraigned Monday after they and three other people were arrested by the FBI on Friday.
The government’s case is 73-pages long and details months of investigation, with one message referencing plans to do the “same thing as France,” which prosecutors believe is a reference to the 2015 ISIS attack in Paris.
Three AR-15 style rifles, two shotguns, four handguns, and over 16-hundred rounds of ammunition were seized during the raids, and more weapons and gear were found in a storage unit in Inkster rented by Ali.
