FRISCO, TX (WKZO AM/FM) – Texas police say Michigan native and Dallas Cowboys player Marshawn Kneeland is dead as a result of suicide at age 24.
Frisco Police Department say he was found early Thursday morning after a multi-agency search following a car chase. Officers from Plano Police Department responded Wednesday night to a welfare check requested by Kneeland’s girlfriend but could not make contact. Kneeland had reportedly expressed suicidal thoughts.
He was selected in the second round of the 2024 NFL draft out of Western Michigan and scored a touchdown in the team’s Monday Night Football matchup against Arizona. The Cowboys called him a beloved teammate and member of the organization.
Kneeland attended Godwin Heights High School in the Grand Rapids suburb of Wyoming.
