KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The city of Kalamazoo is hosting a food drive from Wednesday, November 12th through Thursday, November 20th.
The drive was organized in response to increasing food insecurities and uncertainty around Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, benefits due to the federal government shutdown.
Donations will benefit Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes.
The public is invited to participate by dropping off food items at Kalamazoo City Hall during regular business hours.
Loaves & Fishes provides a food and fund drive checklist that contains a food wish list.
Donations will be picked up at Kalamazoo City Hall on the day following the conclusion of the food drive on Friday, November 21st.
City of Kalamazoo staff are welcome to participate and drop off food items at the following locations:
- Kalamazoo City Hall, 241 West South Street
- Kalamazoo Rose Street offices, 245 North Rose Street
- Kalamazoo Department of Parks & Recreation, 251 Mills Street
- Kalamazoo Department of Public Services – Stockbridge Facility, 415 East Stockbridge Avenue
- Kalamazoo Water Reclamation Plant, 1415 Harrison Street
- Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Headquarters, 150 East Crosstown Parkway
