WASHINGTON, DC (WKZO AM/FM) – President Donald Trump has pardoned the 16 Republican electors who were charged for signing a certificate declaring they were the duly elected electors in the 2020 presidential election.
Attorney General Dana Nessel says the federal pardon does not apply to the state charges she filed against them.
Ingham County District Judge Kristen Simmons dismissed the cases in September, saying Nessel’s office did not have enough evidence to establish the electors intended to commit election fraud.
Nessel is continuing to review the decision but has not said if it will be appealed.
