EAST LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Governor Gretchen Whitmer was heckled last night at the Governor’s Service Awards ceremony in East Lansing over not being able to shut down Enbridge Energy’s Line 5 pipeline under the Straits of Mackinac.
Two protestors asked her when she was going to be able to shut the pipeline down as she promised to do on her campaigns in 2018 and 2022.
Whitmer has been involved in unsuccessful litigation to stop the creation of a tunnel for the pipelines that had been approved by her predecessor, Governor Rick Snyder.
