OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The bomb squad was called to a bank in Kalamazoo County’s Oshtemo Township after a customer left a suspicious package near the bank Tuesday.
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office says a customer attempted to cash a check at the Fifth Third Bank at 6040 Stadium Drive, and after being refused, left the suspicious package.
At 2:22 p.m with the assistance of the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Bomb Squad, deputies was able to conclude there was no explosives present. The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office says it has been able to establish a person of interest in the incident.
The investigation is ongoing, and the department says there doesn’t appear to be a danger to the public at this time.
