After consecutive runner-up championship finishes on the ARCA Menards Series, Lavar Scott joined Alpha Prime Racing on Monday to compete in the newly branded NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series for 2026.
Scott debuted in what was formerly known as the Xfinity Series with two starts for Alpha Prime in 2025. He now gets a full-time ride at the level while driving the No. 45 car.
“Don’t know what to say or type,” Scott posted to X on Monday. “Just thank you to everyone involved. Had a dream and plan since 3 years old, and it’s actually happening. INSANE feeling.”
Scott, 22, was the ARCA runner-up in 2024 to Andres Perez de Lara of Mexico, who immediately moved up to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Scott again finished second in 2025 to Brenden Queen, who also moved up to a full-time ride in the Truck Series.
In two Xfinity Series races last season, Scott finished 28th in his debut at Dover and 19th at Madison, Ill. The New Jersey native never won in three seasons and 46 races on the ARCA Series, but he had one runner-up finish in 2024 and two more in 2025.
