DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Governor Gretchen Whitmer says her final 12 months in office will be focused on literacy.
She says details will be included in her State of the State address early next year along with her executive budget proposal.
Whitmer says free preschool for all students needs to be offered everywhere, local libraries need more funding, and adds literacy is not a partisan issue.
She calls it “an all-hands-on-deck crisis” that needs everyone to be involved.
