KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Thousands of children and families in the Kalamazoo area will get an early Christmas present the next two days, with the The Salvation Army of Kalamazoo’s annual Toy Shop Toy Distribution event taking place tomorrow and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The event will be held at The Salvation Army headquarters at 1700 South Burdick Street from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. today and tomorrow. Toys donated through their Angel Tree Program will be distributed to families who previously signed up. This year, 2,428 children are registered to receive gifts, with a total community impact of 3,718 individuals.
In addition to toys, The Salvation Army will also be providing one food voucher per household, totaling 1,143 vouchers, to help families during the holiday season.
