KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A restaurant and bar in downtown Kalamazoo is set to close its doors for good this weekend.
After 15 years of beer prices that rose and fell every 15 minutes based on demand from customers, similar to the stock market, Kalamazoo Beer Exchange announced Thursday that this Saturday, December 20 will be their last day.
The location at 211 East Water Street also featured pinball machines, pool tables, and electric dart boards, in addition to food.
It hosted a Chamber Connect for the Southwest Michigan First Chamber as recently as last Wednesday.
The owners of Kalamazoo Beer Exchange are opening The Old Skool Bar on the ground floor of the City Centre, 125 South Kalamazoo Mall in 2026. That location was the longtime home of The Union Cabaret and Grille, which operated there from 2002 to 2020 before closing.
