Dec 18 (Reuters) – Nasdaq and the New York Stock Exchange said on Thursday that the U.S. stock markets will remain open as scheduled on December 24 and December 26, hours after President Donald Trump ordered the federal government to be closed on those days.
The exchange operators will close markets early at 1:00 pm ET on December 24 as previously planned and operate on a regular schedule on December 26.
Trump on Thursday ordered all executive departments and agencies of the federal government to be closed and their employees excused from duty on the day before and the day following Christmas Day.
