KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Arcadia Creek Festival Place in downtown Kalamazoo is now undergoing renovations.
City officials say they closed the park at the start of this month and soil borings and environmental tests are underway now.
Demolitions will start soon and continue through the winter.
The city commission approved spending $1.6-million in American Rescue Plan Act funding for the work in February 2024, and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation added a $2-million grant for the work.
The festival site is expected to reopen in 2028.
