COVERT TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Holtec Palisades says it will not get the Palisades nuclear power plant restarted by the end of 2025, but officials say they expect to do so in early 2026.
Senior manager of government affairs Nick Culp says they are still on track and under budget with the restart of the plant.
Palisades closed in May 2022 and Holtec International bought it to be decommissioned.
Since then, Holtec has been making progress to making Palisades the first nuclear plant in the U.S. to transition back to operating after being shut down.
