SOUTH HAVEN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – South Haven police say they have determined the fire that destroyed seven portable bathrooms outside a municipal building Saturday was not arson.
The fire was reported just after 2 a.m. outside the South Haven Area Water Sewer Authority Water Treatment Facility near the South Pier in Lake Michigan.
The facility suffered burn damage to the bricks along with a sign and windows, but the fire did not spread inside and no one was hurt.
The suspect has been interviewed and released by police, who will send the case to the Van Buren County Prosecutor’s Office for possible charges.
