LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The tax Michiganders pay on fuel is changing Thursday as the fuel tax increases to 52.4-cents a gallon from 31-cents.
However, the 6% sales tax on fuel will go away and the change will result in prices going up by about 1.4-cents per gallon.
That’s according to the Michigan Department of Treasury.
All of the taxes on fuel will be put toward road repairs effective January 1st.
