GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Grand Rapids Police Chief Eric Winstrom is becoming the new police chief in Pensacola, Florida.
Winstrom has spent the past four years as the top cop in the Furniture City and will start the new job March 2nd, pending the approval of the city council.
Grand Rapids City Manager Mark Washington says he is “saddened” by the chief’s departure from the city, but says Winstrom made excellent progress and he is thankful for his service.
The chief expanded the number of GRPD officers from 260 when he started to 312.
