MATTAWAN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A former bus driver at Mattawan Consolidated Schools is suing the school district for wrongful termination.
Sarah Robinson says she was fired last year after passing out holiday candy bags to students on her bus, some of which contained religious messages. The complaint says some of the candy bags “contained brief Christian messages while others did not.”
The lawsuit claims that Robinson faced religious discrimination and was penalized for exercising her religion and denied due process.
The 12-page complaint was filed with the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan last December.
