PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Carson Hocevar has landed Spectrum as his primary sponsor for 13 NASCAR Cup Series races this season, starting this weekend with the 68th Daytona 500.
The Portage native was the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series Rookie of the Year with one top five, six top 10 and 13 top 15 finishes and last year had two top five and nine top 10 finishes. He also qualified for the pole position at Texas Motor Speedway last year.
Hocevar is 23 and made his Cup Series debut for Spire Motorsports on June 4, 2023 at World Wide Technology Raceway.
He has been sponsored by Spectrum in the past on his quarter midget and late model race cars when he was growing up, with his dad making the deal to put ads for his business, Scott’s Sports Cards, Coins & Jewelry Shop, on TV.
The Daytona 500 will air live on FOX at 2:30 p.m. Sunday and is the first of 36 point races this year.
Hocevar’s Number 77 Chevrolet Camaro will have the Spectrum sponsorship Sunday along with February 22nd in Atlanta; April 12th in Bristol, Tennessee; May 3rd in Dallas; May 10th at Watkins Glen, New York; June 21st in San Diego; July 19th in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina; September 6th at Darlington, South Carolina; September 13th in St. Louis; October 4th in Las Vegas; October 11th in Charlotte; October 25th in Talladega, Alabama; and November 8th for the NASCAR Cup Series Championship in Miami.
