SPRINGFIELD, MI (WKZO AM/FM) The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shots fired incident that occurred in the City of Springfield on Saturday night.
Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Carle Avenue and Goguac Street at approximately 8:59 p.m. following reports of gunfire.
Upon arrival, authorities located several spent shell casings in the roadway but found no injured victims or property damage. Preliminary findings suggest the shooting stemmed from an altercation between two adult males in the street, who fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.

Investigators have released surveillance images of a late-model gold or tan pickup truck seen leaving the area at the time of the shooting. The Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Battle Creek Police Department, is asking for the public’s help in identifying the vehicle’s owner or anyone involved in the dispute.
