DEARBORN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – We are just a month and a half into 2026, and Triple-A Michigan says gas prices have hit a high of $3.03 on February 12th.
The average price has come down a little bit from then and is now $2.98 a gallon, which is 15-cents higher than last week, two-cents less than last month, and nine-cents less than last year.
A 15-gallon tank of gas costs $44 on average in the state.
Michigan’s highest price is $3.07 a gallon in Ann Arbor, and the lowest price is $2.50 in Traverse City.
In southwest Michigan, Cass County has the lowest price at $2.81, followed by Berrien County at $2.86, Allegan County at $2.88, Van Buren County at $2.93, St. Joseph County at $3, Calhoun County at $3.01, Kalamazoo County at $3.06, and Barry County at $3.11.
