GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Grand Rapids police have shot and injured a man who was armed with a handgun and resisting arrest.
Deputy Police Chief Joseph Trigg says they got a call of a man on a bicycle who was possibly armed and he would not stop for officers, who chased him to an area behind an apartment near Eastern Avenue and Logan Street.
A K-9 bit the man, who then drew the handgun and was shot.
Michigan State Police are investigating.
Witnesses say they heard eight or nine shots fired.
