Feb 26 (Reuters) – Air New Zealand swung to a first-half loss on Thursday, hit by persistent engine maintenance delays, slower-than-expected recovery in domestic demand, and higher costs, forcing the airline to refrain from declaring a dividend.
New Zealand’s flagship carrier reported a loss before tax of NZ$59 million ($35.38 million) for the six months ended December 31, compared with a profit of NZ$144 million a year ago.
The loss was wider than the Visible Alpha consensus estimate of a loss of NZ$21 million.
