PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The vehicle that was hit earlier this week by a stolen Kia Soul in Kalamazoo was driven by an off-duty Portage Public Safety officer.
Jacob Mahoney and his four-year-old son Luca are both hospitalized with serious injuries after the Tuesday afternoon crash at Douglas Avenue and West North Street.
Portage Public Safety Chief Matthew Wolfe says they have set up a GoFundMe to help raise money for the family.
Both are expected to fully recover.
