KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety used over a million gallons of water to put out a large fire outside Kalamazoo Metal Recyclers Monday night and early Tuesday morning.
No one was injured, and the fire impacted metal that was waiting to be recycled.
It took public safety officers until around 4 a.m. yesterday to get the fire under control, and they stayed on the scene for hours after that to put out hot spots.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
