KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect following an early Saturday morning shooting.
Just after midnight KDPS officers were in the 100 block of Farmers Alley addressing crowd and parking concerns related to an event venue. While in the area, officers observed a
physical altercation and heard a gunshot. As officers approached, the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.
Minutes later, a 30-year-old male arrived at a local hospital in a private vehicle with a gunshot wound. He received medical treatment and is currently listed in critical condition.
The suspect, described as a Black
male in his 30’s, last seen wearing a white T-shirt and jeans.
Investigators are also asking anyone who attended the event to share any video footage from the hours leading up to the shooting, as the suspect may have been captured on camera prior to the incident.
