BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Weekly curbside yard waste collection in Battle Creek will start on Monday, April 6th.
The city says it will run through Friday, December 4th for the 2026 season.
Yard waste needs to be at the curb by 6 a.m. of the customer’s regular collection day, and leaves and grass must be bagged or in an accepted container. Branches four-feet and shorter need to be tied, and loose branches won’t be collected.
Additionally, the city says Republic Services will collect up to 32-gallon containers labeled “Yard Waste Only” and each container needs to weigh 50-pounds or less.
Plastic bags, soil, sod, and rocks, and food waste will not be collected. The exception will be for pumpkins in October and November that will be picked up.
