MARCELLUS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Police believe a medical issue may have caused a man to crash his vehicle into a building in Marcellus Thursday afternoon.
Around 12:30 p.m. deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a single vehicle crash at 290 South Centre Street, where it appears 35-year-old Wesley Cummings of Marcellus was southbound when he appeared to be have that medical issue, crashed through a fence, and plowed into Big Tony’s Pizzeria.
Cummings was transported to Beacon Hospital Kalamazoo by helicopter for injuries sustained in the crash. No one in the business was injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
