PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A home in Portage has been completely destroyed by a Sunday night house fire.
Portage Public Safety was called to 4410 Frederick Lane around 9:30 p.m. for the fire and say it had started to extend through the roof when they arrived.
The only occupant of the home was able to escape before crews arrived and was not hurt. One firefighter did suffer minor injuries and was treated at the scene by Life EMS.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but officials say it does not appear to be suspicious.
