COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s deputy has shot and killed a dog that was attacking him in the Menards parking lot on Gull Road in Comstock Township.
He was making contact with the driver of a vehicle that had a stolen license plate from a recently-reported stolen vehicle when the dog became aggressive and attacked him.
The deputy was not hurt.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested on unrelated warrants. No names have been released.
Charges related to the possession of stolen property, the animal incident, and the driver’s suspended license will be submitted to the prosecutor’s office for review.
