WASHINGTON (Reuters) – A Russian official is expected to visit Washington, D.C., this week for talks with the Trump administration, CNN reported on Tuesday, citing a U.S. official and two sources familiar with the plans.
The official, Kirill Dmitriev, will meet with Steve Witkoff, a Trump administration official, for talks about strengthening relations between the two countries as they seek to end the war in Ukraine, according to CNN.
Dmitriev, the chief of Russia’s sovereign wealth fund, was appointed last month as Russia’s special envoy on international economic and investment cooperation.
