KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Even though 2025 Earth Day isn’t until April 22, a local Earth Action Rally is planned at Western Michigan University Friday.
The event is organized by the Michigan Student Power Alliance (MSPA), in collaboration with EARTHDAY.ORG, an international non-profit tracing its roots to the first Earth Day in 1970. The event is organized under the banner of this year’s Earth Day theme, Our Power, Our Planet.
A forum will feature event organizers, student activists, and several keynotes, including Erica Bouldin, Michigan Climate Action Network Line 5 Engagement Coordinator, Jace Bylenga, Michigan League of Conservation Voters West Michigan Regional Organizer, and Mia Breznau, Youth Climate Activist.
The rally will take place from 12:00-4:00 p.m. Western Michigan University Central Campus, at the “Circle W’, following a march that will start at Heritage Hall, 625 Oakland Drive.
