ANN ARBOR, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The University of Michigan’s Faculty Senate is urging president Santa Ono and the Board of Regents to enter a mutual defense compact with other Big Ten universities.
They have adopted a resolution calling on the university to enter the compact to protect the schools from attacks on academic freedom and other issues from the Trump administration.
Michigan State, Indiana, Rutgers, and Nebraska have also called for the compact.
The presidents of the Big Ten universities would have to create the body.
