KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Association of Lincoln Presenters (ALP) is holding its 29th annual conference in Kalamazoo from Thursday evening, April 24 through Sunday morning, April 27.
The group is an organization of men and women dedicated to bringing Abraham and Mary Lincoln to life. They say through presentations that educate, entertain, and inspire, members honor the words and works of the Lincolns.
The Association of Lincoln Presenters holds a conference each April at some location important to the Lincolns’ story. Kalamazoo is the only city in Michigan in which Abraham Lincoln gave a speech.
The conference is being sponsored in part by the Kalamazoo Lincoln Institute.
About 35 of the ALP’s approximately 150 members are expected to attend this year’s conference, including 19 Abraham Lincolns and 13 Mary Lincolns, in addition to people representing General Ulysses S. Grant, Jefferson Davis, and Annie Oakley.
