WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Japanese Finance Minister Katsunobu Kato said on Wednesday that he will meet U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent in Washington on Thursday, and hoped to hold talks with the understanding of the need for close coordination.
Kato, speaking to reporters after meetings of the Group of Seven and 20 major economies, said that he told his counterparts that U.S. tariffs and countermeasures are creating uncertainties in financial markets.
