KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo Growlers baseball team will welcome former Detroit Tiger Brandon Inge to coach the team for the July 10 game against the Battle Creek Battle Jacks.
Inge signed a one-day contract with the team and owner Brian Colopy says Inge will sign autographs “and bring the 2006 Tigers magic to Homer Stryker Field.”
The utility player was drafted by the Tigers in the second round in 1998 and debuted with Detroit on Opening Day 2001, playing 12 of his 13 seasons in Detroit.
During his career, he played eight positions for the Tigers, with pitcher being the only one he didn’t play.
