KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo County is making $400,000 available for local groups that want to help local residents with their most pressing needs.
In the recent past, the county board has responded to individual requests from local organizations seeking such grants.
The Community Grants program is designed to provide a structure for that as part of their annual budget. They say it will be a fairer and more transparent process.
Deputy County Administrator Terrell Cole says they will begin accepting applications at the online grants portal Friday, June 13 at 8 a.m.
The deadline for applications will be Friday, July 18, 2025. They should be for programs that begin no earlier than January 1st, 2026.
County commissioners will weigh the various applications and pick those that best fit their priorities by this November, when the budget for next year is approved.
The board’s goals can be found at this website.
Applications can be submitted here.
