PENN TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A 35-year-old woman from Goshen, Indiana is hospitalized at Elkhart General Hospital after she was in a crash around 4:30 Tuesday morning in Cass County.
The sheriff’s office says deputies responded to the single-vehicle crash on Shattuck Road south of Quaker Street in Penn Township and found Alisha Kindy had lost control, gone off the road to the right, and hit a tree.
Her vehicle then went back across Shattuck Road to the left and became stuck in a field.
Kindy, however, was ejected from the vehicle when it hit the tree. She was not wearing a seat belt, and deputies suspect alcohol or drugs might have been a factor.
The crash is still under investigation.
