DEARBORN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Triple-A is projecting a record 2.6 million Michiganders will travel at least 50 miles from home for the Independence Day holiday.
That is up nearly 3% from last year, with about 2.4 million planning a road trip and around 96,000 taking a flight.
Nationally, Triple-A projects 72.2 million Americans will take a trip for July 4th.
The Independence Day holiday period is defined by the auto club as from Saturday, June 28 through Sunday, July 6.
