KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Tuition and required fees, room and board rates, and the general operating budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year top the agenda when the Western Michigan University Board of Trustees meets Thursday.
The meeting will be held at 12:00 p.m. in the Heritage Hall ballroom.
WMU increased tuition 4.5% for the 2024-2025 academic year for resident undergraduates. Room and board rates also increased, with a 5% increase for on-campus residence halls.
Other agenda items the trustees will consider Thursday include granting emeritus status to Dr. Edward Montgomery, who will retire as WMU’s president June 30, approving faculty tenure and promotions, authorizing a real property lease for Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine, and setting the 2026 Board of Trustees meeting dates.
