ALLEGAN COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The lack of rain this year now has parts of three west Michigan counties classified by the U.S. Drought Monitor as being in a moderate drought.
That area is southwest Kent County, southern Ottawa County, and northern Allegan County.
Holland and Grand Haven are over three inches below normal for rainfall since June 1st, receiving as little as 1.57-inches.
To the southeast, the Battle Creek airport has received over eight inches of rain since June 1st, over six-and-a-half more than Holland.
