WASHINGTON, DC (WKZO AM/FM) – The University of Michigan is under investigation by the Trump administration for possible foreign influence.
The U.S. Department of Education sent a letter to the university yesterday giving them 30 days to turn over more than five years of records of foreign donations, research collaboration, international students and their visas, and contact information and names of everyone who supervised those things.
The move comes after three Chinese citizens connected to U-of-M were accused of smuggling biological hazards into the United States.
The DOE letter says the university has disclosed “incomplete, inaccurate, and untimely disclosures” of foreign contact and funding.
