KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – It’s too early to tell what impact the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision allowing the Trump administration to continue dismantling the federal Department of Education will have on local school districts.
The legal challenge of the President’s action is still pending, but education officials fear by the time its decided, it may be too late.
Kalamazoo Public Schools superintendent Darrin Slade says they are waiting and watching.
But he says it won’t affect the opening of school late next month.
According to their recently approved budget, the district anticipated receiving $8.2 million from federal sources this coming school year
