PORTAGE. MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Portage Public Schools superintendent Johnny Edwards will be hosting a meet-and-greet with the community later this month.
People are invited to meet with him at the Portage Zhang Senior Center at 203 East Centre Avenue from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 21.
He says he is looking “forward to building relationships with everyone across our community,” and adds the excitement of a new school year is in the air.
Edwards adds he is thrilled to work with families, staff, students, and the community “to continue our tradition of educational excellence while writing the next chapter” of the district’s story.
The Community Meet-and-Greet is part of his plans for the first 90 days on the job.
Edwards will also host Listening and Learning Sessions with families and the public soon.
He became Portage Public Schools new superintendent on July 1, taking over after the retirement of Mark Bielang.
