KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Three pistols have been seized by the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team, and officers arrested four people on Saturday, August 16.
KVET led a task force that was focused on finding people accused of using, possessing, or committing crimes with firearms.
The first two pistols were recovered off two 17-year-old Kalamazoo boys who were seen brandishing them while in and around a vehicle in the 1400 block of Portage Street.
The vehicle and the two were found in the 3300 block of South Westnedge Avenue. Both offenders were lodged at the Kalamazoo County Juvenile Home for a felony weapon charge.
The third pistol was recovered off a 34-year-old Benton Harbor man after he was observed possessing the gun in the 600 block of East Michigan Avenue. That vehicle and its occupants were found in the 1100 block of Douglas Avenue.
The man was arrested and lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail on a felony weapon charge. A 34-year-old male passenger, also from Benton Harbor, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
