(Reuters) -The Ukrainian capital Kyiv came under a mass night-time Russian attack, officials said early on Thursday, with at least one dead and four injured and damage to buildings in several districts.
Tymur Tkachenko, head of Kyiv’s military administration, said on Telegram that one person had died in the attack in which he said missiles had been deployed. Among the buildings that sustained damage, he said a kindergarten was ablaze.
Mayor Vitaly Klitschko, also writing on Telegram, said four people had been taken to hospital in Dniprovskyi district on the east bank of the Dnipro River.
Klitschko also said several floors of an apartment building had been damaged further east and a high-rise dwelling was on fire on the other side of the river.
