KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Western Michigan University student organization Feeding Broncos will be hosting a free barbecue chicken and baby back rib dinner Labor Day, Monday, September 1 from 5:00-6:00 p.m. in the Dialogue Room at Kanley Chapel.
WMU President Russ Kavalhuna will be on hand for a special meet-and-greet during the event. The meal will be served by Cadets from the Michigan Youth Challenge Academy.
All WMU students are welcome, and are reminded to bring their student ID. Spouses and children are also encouraged to join in the celebration.
Founded on January 19, Feeding Broncos started serving dinners in February 2025 Mondays and Thursdays in the Dialogue Room at Kanley Chapel. The organization’s mission is to fight hunger on campus by providing free dinners to food-insecure college students.
The Labor Day dinner will kick off the RSO’s program for the 2025-26 academic school year.
Feeding Broncos is partially funded by the WMU Student Allocations Commission. Tax-deductible donations to support Feeding Broncos can be sent to P.O. Box 2632, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49003.
