BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Battle Creek police say they have made “several” arrests for the shooting Monday afternoon that injured a Battle Creek Central High School student.
The arrests were for unrelated charges, and two stolen guns and a stolen vehicle were recovered.
The shooting happened just before 3:00 p.m. near the intersection of Champion Street and United Way that followed an argument between a group of people in a car and a group of people on foot.
Police and school district officials say the shooting was not school-related and two students involved have been removed from the school “out of an abundance of caution.”
