PENNFIELD TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) – A Battle Creek man is in custody for allegedly trapping a repo agent between two vehicles.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to the 2100 block of North Avenue in Pennfield Township for a reported disturbance around 10:30 Thursday morning.
According to initial reports, a repossession agent was attempting to tow a vehicle when an unknown male intentionally struck him with another vehicle, pinning the victim between two cars. The suspect then fled the scene after releasing the victim.
Deputies arrived quickly and began providing medical aid. The Pennfield Fire Department and LifeCare Ambulance soon arrived, administering advanced life-saving measures before transporting the victim to a local hospital. The victim sustained significant injuries and was last reported in stable condition.
Witnesses were interviewed, and deputies canvassed the area for the suspect vehicle. A short time later, the vehicle was located parked inside a garage on the 100 block of Grenville Street in Battle Creek. The vehicle showed damage consistent with the incident.
Deputies executed a search warrant at the residence, where the suspect was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect, a 28-year-old Battle Creek man, was lodged at the Calhoun County Jail on the following charges, Felonious Assault – Great Bodily Harm, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Driving on a Revoked License, and Violation of Personal Protection Order.
