KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Four people are in the Kalamazoo County Jail after two search warrants were executed last Thursday by the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team and Crime Reduction Team.
They were investigating illegal drug distribution and gun violence.
The investigation began with a traffic stop in the 800 block of West North Street when officers arrested three 18-year-old men after one man was seen with a gun. The search of the car revealed two firearms with extended magazines.
They they executed a search warrant in the 600 block of Trimble Avenue, after Portage authorities arrested a 20-year-old man. The search resulted in police seizing around four ounces of cocaine, two handguns, one rifle, and alleged drug sale profits.
The second warrant was carried out in the 600 block of Edwin Avenue, with a firearm being seized along with evidence of drug sales, but no arrest was made in that case.
