GRAND BLANC TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Five people, including the shooter, are dead in a shooting and fire at a Grand Blanc Township church.
The suspect has been identified as Thomas Sanford, a 40-year-old veteran from Burton.
Sanford drove a vehicle into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, opened fire with an assault rifle, and set the church on fire yesterday.
At least eight people were injured.
The FBI is investigating along with Michigan State Police and Grand Blanc Township Police.
Township Police Chief William Reyne says they are trying to determine Sanford’s motive.
